Statement on Reauthorization

The current statutory authority granted to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) expires at 11:59 p.m. on November 30, 2018. The Administration continues to work with our congressional colleagues to discuss the importance of NFIP authorization. FEMA is confident Congress will vote to reauthorize this program so individuals, families, businesses, and communities can purchase insurance to protect their homes and businesses from flooding.

Three Weeks Left to Register for Disaster Assistance With FEMA

Even if you think you don’t qualify because you have insurance or too little damage, you may still be eligible for assistance. Registering is the only way to find out. The December 13 deadline is approaching, so anyone who hasn’t registered should do so as soon as possible.
