Become a Volunteer with the Volunteer Mobile Emergency Response Unit Today! Job Description
The Volunteer Mobile Emergency Response Unit is
looking for mature responsible people who like helping our community first responders. This is an all
volunteer position with lots of wonderful benefits of
helping the professionals who go out and save lives
every day.
Things our volunteers do:
- Food prep and distribution of food to ems workers
- Errand running (local)during disasters
- Fund raising events
- Completing medical assessments on all workers
involved in volunteering at emergency scenes,or local disasters. Must posses at least CPR card for this. - Search and Rescue missions (giving water, food, blankets, etc.) May participate in actual rescues.
- Collecting donations with in the community.
- Clean up and set up of incident command posts.(we have a specific unit for this purpose.)
- Recruitment of other volunteers (must posses good community relations skills) (Spanish fluency a plus.)
- Public Relations Officer for certain extended
missions.
Volunteer Criteria
- You must posses a clean driving record.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- You must be at least 20 years old to apply.
- CPR/AED and AHA First Aid card (within 90 days of joining).
- EMT/PARAMEDIC/FIRST RESPONDER/NURSE CERTIFICATE - welcome but not a must.
- Must sign a code of ethics and responsibilities form to participate.
Remember: We are a not-for profit group and with out the help of the community we could NOT do what we do to help others in danger and need.
